Lester Levenson... Mystic, Master, Sage and Saint

Lester Levenson
1909-1994
Mystic, Master, Sage and Saint

About Lester Levenson
Earlier in his life, Lester lived in New York City as a successful physicist. He had been raised Jewish and was considered very intelligent. At the age of 42, he was sent home to die with only a few days to live. He had many organs failing and was told by the doctors that even one step might be his last.

As he was faced with his death, he realized all the intellectual and book knowledge that he had acquired wasn't going to save his life. He verbally said to himself that he was "stupid, stupid, stupid." As he sat in his chair faced with his death, he decided that he wasn't going to give up yet and began to reflect on his life.

As he reflected he importantly realized that he was happiest in his life when he was loving and unhappiest when he was "looking to be loved." Upon seeing this, he made the decision to correct or "square" everything in his life with love. He did this in his mind by calling up every memory and asking himself "what would love look like" and then he imagined the situation with love.

He continued doing this and in approximately three months time he had completely healed himself. He lived another 40 plus years in an enlightened state of being sharing what he had realized: our basic nature is love, we are unlimited and eternal.
"The easiest thing in the universe to do is to love everyone. That is, once we learn what love is, it's the easiest thing to do. It takes tremendous effort not to love everyone and you see the effort being expended in everyday life. But when we love, we're at one with all. We're at peace and everything falls into line perfectly." -Lester Levenson
From his realization, Lester formulated the Sedona Method also called The Release Technique as a way to teach others what he had learned.

The Sedona Method facilitates the undoing of concepts of limitation created in the mind and held in the subconscious that cover up our true nature. It is used worldwide and assists people with health, finances, business, relationships, and greater levels of well-being.

"Happiness is equal to one's capacity to love."
-Lester Levenson

"No one can be taught Truth or God, each must realize Truth by himself or herself. A Teacher can give the direction, the way, and the pupil may take it." -Lester Levenson
"There is something far more beautiful than nature - it is the Source of nature - the ultimate beauty - God." -Lester Levenson

Lester Levenson's teachings live on in many ways. I was intruduced to Lester's Teachings by Todd Burke in 2004. Todd was a student of Lester's. Lester and Todd's teachings continue to be the most influential in my life.

I had the joy of meeting one of Lester's longtime students, Frances Adams. Frances was the first to publish a small book of Lester's Teachings in 1962 called "The Eternal Verities," a beautiful and powerful book of quotes. Frances shared some amazing and wonderful stories with me about her time with Lester. She spent 15 years with Lester and witnessed some amazing things including how Lester could instantly manifest whatever he needed. Frances shared one story about hiking with Lester in Sedona, in the desert. No matter how much water they drank, his water bottle would not go empty. There were many amazing stories like this that his students and others witnessed.

Lesters teachings are carried on through: "The Sedona Method" taught by Hale Dwoskin, and "The Release Technique" taught by Larry Crane. Both Hale and Larry were students of Lester's and both have their own successful businesses teaching Lester's Method. They both sell tapes of Lester's original classes, and books of Lester's Material, which were originally transcribed and documented by Frances Adams.

Lester Levenson is featured in the book:
"Mystics, Masters, Sages and Saints: Stories of Enlightenment"
by Robert Ullman and Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman, with the Foreword written by His Holiness the Dalai Lama:

"In our unique book, Mystics, Masters, Saints and Sages: Stories of Enlightenment, you will relive the moment of awakening of thirty-four such amazing people, ancient and modern, known and unknown. Whether Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Sufi or Baha'i, whether speaking of God or Christ, Emptiness or Vastness, Rama or Allah, Consciousness or the One, these great beings have shown the way to peace, love, truth and happiness. May we all awaken to absolute freedom and joy."

Lester on Love...

LOVE BEGETS LOVE

“If we want to be loved, the way to get it is to love. It is not only the very best method, but it is the only method. To receive love we must love because what we give out must come back. If I love you, I feel wonderful. If you love me, you feel wonderful. It’s the one who loves who feels great. So wanting to be loved is getting into a direction that can never be satisfied. The happy one is the one loving, the one giving.

“Givingness is an attitude. We can always maintain an attitude of love. Most people who give are not giving lovingly. They’re giving because of the recognition they think they will get for giving: ‘Look at Me; I’m doing good’.”

THE GREATEST GIVINGNESS IS GIVING UNDERSTANDING, GIVING WISDOM

“If I give a starving person a meal, in a few hours they will need another meal again. However, if I give them the principle of how to produce for themselves, then they will never go hungry again.

“This thing called love is your basic nature. All the love in the universe is in your basic nature. You will discover that happiness—your happiness—equates to your capacity to love, and conversely all your miseries equate to your need to be loved. Just love, love, love and you will be so happy and healthy and prosperous. Remember, you need to release your non-love feelings. Try it, you will like it.

“One of the things that happened in my process to love all was I discovered my identification with others. I saw that we are all related, we are all inter-connected. Each mind is like a radio broadcasting and receiving station; that we are all tuned into each other unconsciously—that we are just not aware of it. I also saw that life was meant to be beautiful…meant to be happy all the time with no sorrow. And to be with perfect health. And so after reaching that high point of understanding in 1952, I have wanted to help others to discover what I had discovered.”

Birther of all Radiance

Birther of All Radiance
a translation of "The Lord's Prayer" from Aramaic
by Mark Hathaway

O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration!

Soften the ground of our being
and carve out a space within us
where your Presence can abide.

Fill us with your creativity
so that we may be empowered
to bear the fruit of your mission.

Let each of our actions bear fruit
in accordance with your desire.

Endow us with the wisdom to produce
and share what each being needs
to grow and flourish.

Untie the tangled threads of destiny
that bind us,
as we release others from
the entanglement of past mistakes.

Do not let us be seduced by that which would
divert us from our true purpose
but illuminate the opportunities
of the present moment.

For you are the ground and the fruitful vision,
the birth power and the fulfilment,
as all is gathered
and made whole once again.

The Four Agreements

THE FOUR AGREEMENTS

"Be Impeccable With Your Word"
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against your self or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of "Truth and Love."

"Do Not Take Anything Personally"
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

"Don't Make Assumptions"
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

"Always Do Your Best"
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Our Emotional Guidance System

The following is an excerpt from the teachings of Abraham (Esther & Jerry Hicks) that I have found immensely helpful in my life. Our emotions and feelings are our guide in life. They inform us of how in- or out-of alignment we are with our true nature, with our surroundings, and our relationships with others. By asking ourselves some questions and being honest with our answers, we can find out just exactly how we are feeling.

Questions: How are you feeling right now? How are you feeling about ___ (fill in the blank). How are you feeling about your body? Your mind? Your Spirit? Your home? Your job? Your career? Your relationships? Etc. Be specific and hone in on an area where you would like to make some changes. A process of talking out loud or writing down your thoughts will give you the best reading of the way you are feeling.

Your feeling is your energetic vibration, and your energetic vibration is what you are offering the universe and telling the universe you want more of! By communicating with yourself in this way, you can become more conscious and aware of keeping your vibration high so that you can manifest the best possible reality you can!

A Scale of Emotions Looks Like This:
(1=feeling the best, 22=feeling the worst)

1) Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
2) Passion
3) Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4) Positive Expectation/Belief
5) Optimism
6) Hopefulness
7) Contentment
8) Boredom
9) Pessimism
10) Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
11) Overwhelment
12) Disappointment
13) Doubt
14) Worry
15) Blame
16) Discouragement
17) Anger
18) Revenge
19) Hatred/Rage
20) Jealousy
21) Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
22) Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

You do not have access to emotions that are far from where you are currently vibrating. The goal is to recognize where you are currently vibrating, and then step by step, day by day, walk yourself up the vibratory scale until you are at number one, Joy!

As you make statements with the deliberate intention of inducing an emotion that gives you a slight feeling of relief, you will begin to release resistance, and then you will be able to move gradually up the vibrational scale to a place of feeling much better.

Remember, an improved feeling means a releasing of resistance, and a releasing of resistance means a greater state of allowing what you really want.

Using the Emotional Scale, and beginning with where you are, look at the emotion that is just about where you believe you are now, and try to fashion some words that will lead you into a slightly less resistant emotional state of being.

If the negative emotion you are feeling is slight, you will quickly move up the scale. If the negative emotion you are feeling has only begun recently, you will quickly move up the scale. If you are experiencing something extremely serious, or it is something that you have been troubled with for many years, it is conceivable that you could spend as many as 22 days moving up the scale, each day deliberately choosing the improved emotion just above the one you are currently feeling. But 22 days from Powerlessness to Empowerment is not a long time at all when you compare it to people you know who have been in a state of grief, insecurity, or powerlessness for many years.

The goal is to simply reach a better-feeling emotion. And by doing so, you will free yourself from troubling negative emotions that you have been experiencing for years. And as you gently and gradually release the resistance you have unknowingly gathered, you will begin to experience gradual improvements in your life experience... in all troubling areas of your life.

Excerpt from "The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent" by Abraham, Esther & Jerry Hicks

Some Quotes from Abraham:

By paying attention to the way you feel, and then choosing thoughts that feel the very best, you are managing your own vibration, which means you are controlling your own point of attraction — which means you are creating your own reality. It's such a wonderful thing to realize that you can create your own reality without sticking your nose in everybody else's, and that the less attention you give to everybody else's reality, the purer your vibration is going to be — and the more you are going to be pleased with what comes to you.
From the workshop 12/8/01
You cannot receive vibrationally something that you are not a vibrational match to. And so, bless those who are finding abundance. And in your blessing of them and their abundance, you will become abundant, too. But in your cursing of their abundance, you hold yourself apart from it. It is a law—it is a powerful law.
From the workshop G-6/12/04B
If you have the ability to desire it, the Universe has the ability to deliver it. You've just got to line up with what you want, which means—be as happy as you can be as often as you can be there, and let everything else take care of itself.
From the workshop G-4/25/04
You have the ability to control the power of your thoughts. You have the ability to control the power of your mind. You have the ability to make a vibration dominant that matches your desire. You do. And that's all it takes. And that's all any successful person ever has done. It's all anyone who has ever achieved anything that they wanted has ever done. They just wanted it, and talked themselves into believing it.
From the workshop 3/16/02B
You're always on your way somewhere. The key is: find a way to be happy wherever you now are on your way to where you really want to be. (We're speaking of the state of being you want.) It does not matter where you are; where you are is shifting constantly—but you must turn your attention to where you want to go. And that's the difference between making the best of something and making the worst of something.
From the workshop 9/27/03
